Temple Hill Primary Academy are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated teacher to join our Lighthouse provision at Temple Hill.  The Lighthouse hosts our specialist provisions, supporting children with a range of special educational needs to access a mainstream setting. Temple Hill Primary Academy works closely with the other schools in The Galaxy Trust (Oakfield Primary Academy and West Hill Primary Academy) and all are situated within Dartford. With nearly 2000 pupils across the three schools there are a great number of opportunities for developing the best provision within the area.

We are seeking a part time teacher, 0.6 FTE (19.5 hours per week), for a small group of children who can support the development of children's communication, social skills and help start their journey to academic success.  The role would involve teaching each morning to a small group of mixed age children working towards year 1 level.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with SEN.  Teacher experience is preferable though not essential.

What can we offer you?

  • Firstly, a great team of teachers and teaching assistants to work with.  We are a very large team, but with this comes a great deal of support, all planning is completing in teams with a whole day of PPA once a half term.
  • Reducing teacher workload and improving teacher well-being is a priority at Temple Hill Primary Academy. We have an innovative assessment system: no more marking endless amounts of books at the end of the day! No more endless staff meetings each week- Phase meetings are held within the school day.
  • A hugely supportive senior leadership team.
  • Great pupils and wonderful parents and carers.
  • A range of development opportunities to take every member of staff to their next level.  We have funded adults in the school to complete action research, their Masters Degrees, British Sign Language, to name but a few.
  • 2 family wellbeing days a year
  • Breakfast in Friday briefing

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and all appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
