Goldwyn Sixth Form College is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed HLTA who is passionate about working with young people with Special Educational Needs, and who can help us make a positive impact on a student’s life by helping them to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting time to become part of our organisation as we look to further expand and build on our success.   

Goldwyn Sixth Form College is an independent special post 16 provider for students with EHCPs. Currently courses on offer at the College include Construction, Motor Mechanics, English and Maths GCSE as well as a Foundation Study Programme.  The successful applicant will support students on a 1:1 basis and in group sessions to motivate the students to learn and engage them in each lesson. 

All our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan in place and a range of needs including Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion and commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
  • Ideally has some knowledge or experience of working with young people with SEN
  • Is willing to work as part of a team
  • Has the commitment and enthusiasm to provide bespoke learning experiences to troubled young people
  • Is patient, resilient, calm and composed
  • Is flexible and adaptable
  • Has a proven ability to meet deadlines and work comfortably in a challenging and demanding environment
  • Has GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and mathematics
  • Has strong ICT skills
  • HLTA qualification (desirable) and full driving licence (desirable)

This post is for 32.5 hours per week 39 weeks per year (term time only plus staff development days)

And offered on a salary of Kent Range 5; £18,704 - £20,121 + SENA of £1274 per annum Actual starting salary (including SENA) is £15,182.55 per annum.
