The Abbey School invites applications for the post of Teaching Assistant to work within the school’s Alternative Curriculum Provision to support some of our most vulnerable students. Minimum requirements are GCSE English and Maths C Grade or equivalent.
Experience, of working with vulnerable students is an advantage, but most valued is the enthusiasm to support and motivate young people and the ability to act as a positive role model. We are seeking reliable candidates who have; patience, understanding as well as being team players.
The Abbey School is a highly successful, forward thinking school with over 200 staff. Ofsted in February 2017 graded the school Good in all areas. They noted several strengths including “strong leadership, the quality of teaching, improving exam results, a vibrant sixth form, good behaviour, and an excellent level of care and safety”.
The Abbey School is a wide ability 11-19 Academy of 1,120 students, with over 180 students in the sixth form. We are also an IB World School and offer the IBCP (International Baccalaureate Careers Programme). We are currently oversubscribed in year 7 and have a very positive team with high staff morale.
The school is situated on the rural outskirts of the small market town of Faversham. We aim to provide the highest quality value-added education and excellent pastoral care for all students to ensure they feel secure and valued.
