Sedley’s Church of England Primary School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and inspiring part-time SENCO to join our valued team from January 2010. (1 day a week)
The role will be to advise colleagues on strategies to support SEN children in the classroom, and to find creative solutions for managing need across the school. Interventions are delivered by teaching assistants across the school, so the SENCO will also oversee and coordinate their deployment.
We are a caring, nurturing and ambitious community that work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for all. Every child is valued and encouraged to meet their full potential of being an independent and confident learner. We aim to provide a curriculum that is creative in its approach and underpin this with first hand experiences to ensure that we create lifelong learners. These experiences along with our core Christian values allow the pupils at Sedley’s to develop not only academically but also morally, physically and spiritually. Our pupils are taught from a Christian perspective, which includes respect and tolerance of the beliefs of others. It is for this reason that a child does not have to be from a Christian background to benefit from all that Sedley’s offers.
We truly believe that our pupils grow and develop into confident and articulate young people that are ready to move on to the next step of their educational journey and life beyond. If you are looking for a school that fosters all these important values, along with an opportunity to nurture your career aspirations in a supportive environment, then look no further.
I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of such an historic school and be part of such a welcoming local community. If you are interested in joining the team, I would welcome the opportunity to show you around our school community. Please contact Mrs Moore, our Office Manager, to make an appointment.
Sedley's CE Voluntary Aided Primary School is a small four-class village school in Southfleet, founded in 1637. The school remains at the heart of the community, and is actively involved in village life, and well supported by the Governors, Church and PFA. The school is close to A2/M25 and a few minutes drive from Bluewater.
The school has been extended numerous times, but the original school building and even the air raid shelter are still used!
The school is popular and over-subscribed. It currently has a Good OFSTED grade and an Outstanding Church School Inspection grade.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
