Advert

We are looking for an experienced primary trained teacher.

Our School Development Plan includes a focus on creating a really strong whole school culture of a love of reading and we are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who has a passion for the teaching of English and reading.

This is an exciting time for the school as we have just recently joined a project with our local teaching partnership to work on this area, so the successful candidate will have a network of colleagues with whom to develop and share best practice

For us to succeed, we need a teacher who is able to work flexibly with pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups; and also to enthuse and coach colleagues. Our School is based across two sites, which are close in proximity.

The support for colleagues may include some modelling of best practice.

We are particularly looking for a candidate who has strong specialist knowledge related to the teaching of English at primary level, including the teaching of phonics.

The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, creative and dynamic as we are looking for someone who can create a really passion for reading, resulting in positive outcomes for pupils across the school.

Information about the school

Who we are:

The National Autistic Society is the UK’s leading charity for autistic people. Since 1962, we’ve been transforming lives, changing attitudes and helping to create a society that works for autistic adults and children.

We transform lives by providing support, guidance and practical advice for the 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK, as well as their three million family members and carers. Autistic people turn to us at key moments or challenging times in their lives, be it getting a diagnosis, going to school or finding work.

We change attitudes by improving public understanding of autism and the difficulties many autistic people face. We also work closely with businesses, local authorities and government to help them provide more autism-friendly spaces, deliver better services and improve laws.

We have come a long way but it is not good enough. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for people on the spectrum. With your help, we can make it happen.
