Administration Assistant

Hours:37 hours per week, Mon - Thur 08:00 - 16:00 & Fri 08:00 - 15:30.

Contract: Permanent, term time only plus Inset days

New Line Learning Academy is seeking an Administration Assistant to provide an efficient administrative service 5 days per week within the Main Office and Reception on a permanent basis, term time only plus INSET days.

We are looking for someone to assist the Receptionist and Attendance Officer. Experience of working within an attendance role in a school environment would be highly desirable, with an emphasis on dealing with persistent absentees. However, training can be provided. The role will involve assiting the attendance officer in enforcement of penalty notices, improving attendance rates and reducing student absence.  

Main duties include:

  • Act as a first point of contact for all visitors to the Academy
  • Maintaining attendance records
  • Contacting home/parents when students are absent
  • Deal with routine queries from students, liaising with staff where necessary
  • Answering telephones and forwarding queries accurately and appropriately
  • Updating and maintaining information/data in SIMS
  • Maintaining general administrative filing records
  • Managing records via data input, extraction, reporting and Mail merge

The successful candidate will have experience within an administrative environment including the use of advanced Microsoft Office skills.  Your excellent customer service skills will create a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors to the Academy.  You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work under pressure with a diverse workload and will be highly motivated, using this to find solutions to administrative problems. Working knowledge of SIMS is highly desirable.
