Teaching Assistant (and Midday Supervisor) required from December 2019.

We are looking for an experienced and capable Teaching Assistant, who can work in our mixed age Year 5/6 class.  They are required to have experience of engaging children of this age, and moving them on in their thinking and learning, plus an ability to deliver invervention programmes.   The applicant should have English and Maths GCSEs or equivalent, as a minimum, and have good verbal and written skills. They should be willing to assist the class teacher in all areas of learning, and be confident with explaining the Year 6 Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar, and Maths Curriculums to pupils.  This will be tested at interview.

The person will be required to work 2 days,  Thursday and Friday 8.45 am to 3.20pm term time only, in this role.

They will also be required to work lunchtimes as a mid-day supervisor which will be paid at Kent Range 2.

We are a small rural primary school, set between the villages of Bossingham and Stelling Minnis, six miles south of Canterbury and 12 miles from Folkestone. Our history dates back to 1784 and we are one of the oldest schools in Kent. We are a Good school (Ofsted) and were judged Outstanding as a Church School (Diocesan Inspection).
