About the School

Medway Green is part of Acorn Care and Education Group and is a brand new Special School opening in Wouldham, Kent.  Based in a newly refurbished, state of the art building, formerly Wouldham All Saints Primary School, We are looking forward to welcoming our first students through our doors in November 2019

To help us on our journey we are looking to recruit a facilities coordinator to ensure the safety of the site for both students and staff.  They will be responsible for maintaining the site as well as the upkeep for any necessary records relating to Health & Safety.

About the role

Working as the Facilities Co-ordinator / caretaker at Medway Green School you will undertake general maintenance, ensure that the site is kept clean and tidy, co-ordinate site support services and external contractors, as well as being responsible for regular, necessary and statutory checks.

We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards, who can offer excellent organisational and constructive, practical skills.  The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.  We are looking for a motivated individual who is able to work as part of a team as well as use their initiative when working alone.

Information about the school

Medway Green School is a special needs provision that provides for students whose SEMH/SEN needs have resulted in placement breakdown at their mainstream schools. We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH students in Key stages 2-4, however within the next 2 years the provision will move to Key stages 3-4 only. Students will experience a personalised curriculum based on previous learning and identified needs. With a keen focus on therapy, education and personal development the school aims to help young pupils grow academically, socially and emotionally to enable them to achieve success as they progress through life.

Opened in 2019, Medway Green School presently provides education to 67 students, with a capacity of 70 students. We have welcomed our first KS4 cohort this year and have been excited to introduce subject specialists to our school, providing a secondary model of learning.
