Does the idea of joining a brand new school and assisting the Headteacher to build an outstanding SEN provision excite you?  Are you an outstanding teacher of KS1 and KS2 students?  Do you have experience of teaching and managing SEN students, particularly those with challenging behaviours?

Medway Green is part of Acorn Care and Education Group and is due to welcome its first students in November 2019.  To help us on our journey we are looking to recruit an outstanding Assistant Headteacher who will assist the Headteacher in leading and managing the school.   Our new Assistant Headteacher will help the school establish itself as a leading light for our young people and their families.

About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher you will be a member of our inaugural SLT and you will play out a crucial role in formulating and managing the School Improvement Plan and the aims and objectives of the school.  You will initially undertake a mixture of leadership and teaching responsibilities, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for young people. You will be expected to contribute to the organisation, management and supervision of school routines and curriculum.

Initially this role will be to implement and enhance our Primary Curriculum and to lead on Teaching and Learning as well as Assessment for Learning.  As the school expands over the next 4 -5 years and our SLT grows, there will be opportunities to redistribute roles and responsibilities with senior colleagues.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking to hear from dynamic and passionate individuals who have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs associated with SEMH. We are looking for someone who knows how to bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how the needs of our students impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom.

As an excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for Medway Green School. If you are a highly motivated and forward thinking leader, with the energy and passion to change lives coupled with proven experience of improving learning outcomes through coaching and mentoring teachers, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.  This role is open to existing senior leaders or experienced middle leaders seeking their first steps into senior leadership.

In return for your experience and commitment we offer outstanding career opportunities, access to a network of highly experienced and enthusiastic senior colleagues within the Acorn Care and Education Group and the chance to shape the future and ongoing development of the school.

Acorn Care and Education are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

Please note that we do not offer Teachers' Pension Scheme at Medway Green School.  Acorn Group  offers an auto enrolment pension scheme.
