Job Title: Qualified Teacher KS2/3

Responsible To: Head Teacher – Sallygate School   

We are seeking to recruit a KS2/3 Class Teacher who is a great all-rounder- enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated. A strong commitment to moving the school to Outstanding and leading by example are of key importance. Applicants that have prior experience or training in the Primary or SEND sectors will be well prepared for teaching in our school.

Job Summary 

To take responsibility for the planning, implementation and development for a broad and balanced curriculum for a small group of pupils with Special Educational Needs and a history of attachment, trauma and SEMH difficulties. To ensure that all pupils at various learning levels from KS2 to KS3 make progress and achieve to the best of their ability.   

Successful candidates will be:

  • An excellent practitioner with high expectations of teaching and learning, achievement and a commitment to building positive relationships with pupils.
  • Able to offer learners a high quality curriculum, giving them confidence to succeed
  • Ability/Interest to teach a Specialist Subject across the school is desirable but not essential
  • Able to inspire pupils through the delivery of engaging lessons and to reduce gaps in learning for our pupils
  • Able to support our pupils to reach their full potential

The Sallygate School is an Independent Special School catering to the unique needs of pupils with SEMH which opened in 2011. Located in the heart of the Alkham Valley, near Dover, the Sallygate School is part of Channels & Choices Therapeutic Community which comprises of several therapeutic residential children’s homes, an independent therapeutic fostering agency and a multi-disciplinary therapy service, including SaLT & OT service.
