Person Specification and Qualifications

Applications will be welcomed from those with a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification and experience in an early years setting. The successful candidate will have a commitment to providing a high standard of care to children together with a conscientious and willing approach. 

Terms and Conditions

The role reports to the Nursery Manager. The hours of work will be 40 hours per week.  This is based on a four day shift pattern of an early 7.15am - 5.15pm, late 8.30am - 6.30pm and middle shifts 8.00am - 6.00pm. Your remuneration will be £18,408.00 per annum and includes an allowance for the equivalent of 4 weeks paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.  At busy times you may be asked to work additional paid hours.  The Nursery pension scheme is available.

Information about the school

Bronte Nursery aims to provide a happy, bright setting for childhood life and growth. giving children an affectionate, secure environment, at the same time as providing the best possible momentum in development, education and growth.

A high priority is given to communication with parents. Childcare practitioners are encouraged to use their initiative and to look after the children in a caring, tender and devoted way, with warm, purposeful guidance and help.

The Nursery, which has a maximum capacity of 109 children, is set in an attractive Victorian building, on Pelham Road, Gravesend. On the ground and first floors, there are 5 children’s rooms, all recently fully refurbished, together with a hall/dining area, the nursery office and the manager’s office. On the second floor, there is a staff room and a meeting room. Outdoors, there is pleasant garden and play space.
