Working Hours: 30hrs per week, term time only (38 weeks per year), plus 15 twilight sessions from 3.15 – 5.15 on Tuesdays
Pro rata salary £10,692 - £11,760 (for 30 hours term time)
SEN allowance £1,160 (pro rata to 30 hours)
(Salary Full time £15,628 - £17,188 plus SEN allowance full time £1,257)

Due to an increase in roll, we are seeking to appoint two teaching assistants, one for our Lower School phase and one for the Upper School. The posts offer an opportunity for enthusiastic and experienced TAs to join our dedicated and highly effective staff team. The posts are temporary for at least one year, however, there is a possibility they will become permanent as the school continues to increase its roll.
The school prides itself on providing our pupils with much more than academic support within lessons and we are looking for people willing to commit to providing the very best all round education for these exceptional young people.
The successful candidate will work supporting pupil with a range of behaviour and learning needs and will have a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience, a flexible approach to their work and an ability to embrace change.
Candidates need to possess a minimum of GCSE grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).

Elms School is a special day school for children with social, emotional and learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have ASD, ADHD or other difficulties such as attachment difficulties. The school has a mixed roll of 145 students between the ages of 5 and 16.
The school has been assessed as Good. The most recent inspection report was published in November 2017. At Elms we combine academic success with a therapeutic, nurturing approach in order to best support the learning and emotional needs of our pupils.
