Working along with the external ICT consultant the role will see you maintaining the efficient working of the schools ICT equipment and infrastructure.  We require a dynamic, proactive and well organised ICT technician to support the ICT department and ensure the smooth running of school systems.This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding and thriving school based over three sites in the Maidstone area.

 

Person Specification

 Essential

 To hold an A level in ICT or equivalent.

 To have an enthusiasm and passion for ICT.

 To be flexible with a proactive nature.

 To work well as part of a team, with the skills and ability to also work independently.

 To have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Experience of supporting desktop PC’s, laptops and other network peripherals.

 Experience of supporting IOS devices.

 To have work experience of 2 + years.

 Must hold a full driving license as the school is split over 3 sites.  The role is primarily based at Boughton Lane, but you will be required to attend to helpdesk requests at Snodland or Palace Wood.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manages computer hardware, software and systems within school and provides technical support to school network to ensure effective IT provision to school for both curriculum and administrative purposes.
  • Provides advice to other Facilities and staff on purchase of appropriate equipment to meet identified needs.
  • Identifies and installs hardware and software to develop school systems in line with changing technology.
  • Assists staff training in new software applications on an "as required" basis to ensure staff are able to maximise IT resources.
  • To maintain and action an effective helpdesk system, ensuring that tasks are logged, and effective feedback promptly provided.
  • Assists in the resolution of network problems, maintains and repairs hardware and software to enable the smooth running of all school IT systems.
  • To keep all peripheral equipment in full working order.
  • To become familiar with the needs of pupils and staff so that appropriate ICT hardware and software is available 
  • Ensure the asset tracking schedule is monitored and kept up to date.
  • To carry out VDU assessments, and ensure health and safety compliance of office based staff.
  • To work alongside staff and pupils in order to support ICT learning activities.
  • nstall, maintain and update programs including Windows 10, Office 2010, Imprint and Clicker 7.
  • To set up ICT request for events 
  • o liaise regularly with the ICT curriculum leads and the Business Manager.
  • To maintain, update and assist with computer shared areas.  Liaise with admin staff and SLT.
  • Carry out updates of SIMS programmes and assist with production of statutory returns.
  • Assist with video recording of celebration assemblies and any other requirements.
  • Set up, maintain and update iPads as required.  
  • To maintain and update the school biometric system when required, liaising with the facilities team, and external contractor to rectify problems in a timely manner.
  • Update user lists of external IT services including my concern and biometric system.
  • Repair of ICT equipment including laptops and IPads.  Understanding and knowledge required to identify fault and problem solve.
  • To maintain telephone connections and CCTV, and identify problems for provider to action.
  • To maintain the ICT network and internet connection.
