We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Chartham Primary School. You should be a positive and enthusiastic person who loves working with children and helping them to strive for their best.

Whilst experience supporting children with ASD and ADHD would be beneficial, it is not essential; you must have a minimum 'C' grade in English and maths. Your numeracy and literacy will be of a high enough standard to support and extend children throughout the primary age range. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude, a good sense of humour, and be friendly and approachable. Good time management and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential.

Responsibilities will include: •Supporting a child 1:1 across all areas of the curriculum •Feeding back to the class teacher and keeping some records of progress and behaviour •Working closely with other members of staff •Preparing resources and some administrative work •Lunch duty.

Above all, you need to be determined to help our children achieve their best, and be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work. You must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child within a creative and innovative school setting.

All applications will be considered and all relevant training will be given to the right candidate. If you are interested in this position, please complete the application form on this site.

We welcome visits to the school to look round prior to application. Please contact the school office if you would like to visit.

Please note that only those applicants who are successful in getting through to the interview process will be contacted.

The position is for 22.5 hours per week, term time only (8.45am to 1.15pm), at Kent Range 3 (£17,365 - £17411 pro rata). This is a fixed term position until 31st August 2020.
