Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time only + 1 week)

Whitehill Primary School seeks to appoint a Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant to support the work of the SEN team and provide specialist support to individual support to pupils with high levels of SEN.

The role will also involve liaising with class teachers, TAs, parents/carers and other stakeholders. The ideal candidates will hold relevant qualifications, including Maths and English GCSE and demonstrate high levels of skill and experience in working with children with a variety of SEN including social and communication difficulties including ASD. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and have good ICT skills to support planning and delivery. The Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant will report to the Deputy Headteacher Inclusion and will be involved in the strategic planning in relation to SEN and inclusion across the school.

This appointment will start as soon as possible.  Salary is subject to experience, but will be within The Decus Educational Trust (TDET) Range 5: £15,755.59 -£17,033.92 per annum (equivalent to £18,611-£20,121 per annum for a full-time, all year round post).
