Advert

We are looking for a new HLTA to join our team this academic year to work with our incredibly enthusiastic and compassionate children to provide high quality cover for lessons in Key Stage 1 and 2.  We are continuing to develop a new curriculum to engage and inspire all of our children and this position presents a wonderful opportunity for a skilled HLTA to join us to help us deliver this curriculum

The post is for 21 hours per week during term time, every afternoon (1.00-3.30) and two mornings (8.30-12.45) per week. We would be keen to work with your strengths - for example, cover could be planned to make the most of your skills in Music, French or other areas of expertise. This position is offered initially on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year and provides a wonderful opportunity to grow your skills in an environment that values development and learning for children and staff.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced HLTA or someone with the skill and desire to provide high-quality whole class cover who will be able to fit into our culture and ethos of putting the children at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for someone who is also:

  • able to build strong relationships with children
  • skilled at delivering whole class sessions
  • willing to develop and adapt their approach to whole class cover sessions
  • committed to the highest possible expectations for our children
  • able to demonstrate strong levels of teamwork and collaboration

At Ryarsh Primary School we can offer you:

  • a welcoming school, genuinely at the heart of its community
  • a supportive and friendly staff team
  • hardworking, motivated and well behaved children
  • excellent opportunities for professional development
  • flexibility to build on your strengths and talents
  • extensive grounds and facilities

We are proud to be a highly successful school, rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Our visitors tell us that our school has a great feel and ethos, living up to our school motto, "forward thinking for a brighter future".

To find out more about this opportunity, please feel free to visit or contact the school to discuss the role in more detail.

Information about the school

At Ryarsh Primary School, we recognise that while outcomes matter, they only tell part of the story.

Schools rightly spend time analysing measurable success—assessment outcomes, progress, work in books and pupil voice. We are proud of the strong outcomes our children achieve. However, we believe that what truly defines a school cannot always be measured. It is found in the culture we create, the relationships we build and the way every member of our community is supported to thrive.

When you join Ryarsh Primary School, you become part of something more than a workplace—you become part of a family. We do not use that term lightly. Whilst communities can be formed through circumstance or location, we see ourselves as a family because we are bound together by strong, meaningful relationships.

Within our Ryarsh family, everyone—regardless of age or role—is a learner. We are a community where minds are nurtured and challenged, where curiosity is encouraged and where every individual is supported to grow and flourish. Our approach is rooted in thoughtful, research-informed practice, enabling us to remain reflective, innovative and continually striving to improve.

We believe in working collaboratively and with purpose. We listen carefully, value every voice and empower all members of our community to contribute meaningfully to the life of the school. Every individual plays a vital role in shaping what makes Ryarsh such a special place.

There is something quietly powerful about what happens here each day—a deep sense of belonging, care and shared purpose. It is this that truly defines Ryarsh Primary School.
