Are you self-motivated and highly organised with a good range of practical skills? If so, then read on as this may be the perfect role for you…

The Viking Academy Trust is looking to appoint a CARETAKER to join our Premises Team from October 2019.  Your base school will be Ramsgate Arts Primary School but you will be part of the Viking Premises Team and your place of work may change in accordance to the changing needs of our educational trust.

There are lots of special reasons for becoming part of ‘Team Viking’. We are a fabulous, caring school community that ensures our ‘One Childhood One Chance’ philosophy is at the centre of everything we do. To work for us, more than anything else, you need to like children, to want the very best for them and be prepared to put their needs first; children will be at the heart of your work. We want our pupils to have an amazing school environment - inside and out and this is something you need to help us achieve!

It’s all about making sure we're safe and secure, with everything working correctly and efficiently as well as keeping the school looking smart. Duties will include general maintenance of the school premises; out of hours opening for lettings; ensuring the security of the school, regular health and safety checks and general janitorial duties.

The successful candidate will take pride in ensuring the school is clean, tidy and a safe environment for our children and staff. They will need to be competent at DIY tasks and be able to work both on their own initiative and under the guidance of others.

We regularly hire minibuses to transport our pupils to different events around the local area and although not essential, it would be very useful to have category D1 on your licence as well as some experience of driving minibuses.

The post is for 30 hours a week. Working hours will be discussed at interview however applicants must be aware that flexibility and willingness to work outside of 9-5 pattern will be essential.

The contract is for 52 weeks a year and pay will be on Kent Range 3 (approximate salary: £14,079 per annum)

If you're keen and are confident you can meet the challenge then please get in touch - visits are strongly encouraged and we hope to have the successful person in place for the beginning of October 2019.

Please contact Lisa Blatchford, Chief Operations Officer: coo@vikingacademytrust.com or by telephone on 01843 861393.

The Viking Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure application to the Criminal Records Bureau and check against the ISA-barred list for children.
