We are looking to appoint a highly motivated SENCO/Inclusion Manager to lead and manage SEND provision across the school. You should be a positive, enthusiastic person who loves working with children and helping them to achieve their potential.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or has a willingness to work towards this)
  • Is a qualified teacher
  • Has high expectations of children's attainment, progress, behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Understands, and can implement, the SEND code of practice
  • Has experience of working with children with a range of individual needs
  • Has the ability to plan and evaluate interventions in order to gain the best outcomes for SEN pupils
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has high expectations of their own achievement and development, both professionally and personally
  • Has experience of dealing with external agencies to secure the best SEN provision available for pupils
  • Has excellent organisational skills and up to date knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Has a sound knowledge of implementing strategies to support pupils in mainstream schools
  • Is able to lead and manage an experienced support team
  • Expects the highest possible standards from all pupils, staff and members of the wider school community
  • Is able to model good practice, deliver training and recommend specific programmes of interventions for pupils
  • Demonstrates a professional outlook and thrives on a challenge
  • Is committed and passionate about developing children’s learning
  • Is confident with using ICT for record keeping

This post is open to experienced teachers on the Main Pay Scale. This post is part time (0.6 FTE) and we can be flexible with the structure of hours worked, which can be discussed further at interview.

Meopham Community Academy is a two form entry primary school set in a beautiful village location and the school prides itself on providing a happy, safe and caring environment for all its pupils. We are a busy, friendly and popular school with a warm and welcoming ethos; recognised by all who visit!

The staff, parents and governors of our school work together to provide the best for the families we serve. We want our children to enjoy their time and education with us and to achieve the highest possible standards in all aspects of their lives. We are very proud of our school and the high standards of behaviour and learning that our children achieve.

Our broad curriculum, wide range of extra-curricular activities and support for pupils were all recognised in the most recent, short Ofsted inspection in October 2018, where the school continued to be rated as "Good".

We are now part of The Golden Thread Alliance and we work closely with the other schools in the trust.
