We wish to appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic and supportive Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to provide interventions for speech and language.

The will be enthusiastic, hard-working and able to work with pupils from EYFS, KS1 and KS2. They must have a good standard of English and Maths and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents and professionals from other agencies as well as work alongside our schools speech and language specialist. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and works well as part of a team.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have NVQ Level 2 or 3 or other relevant qualifications, experience in delivering speech and language programmes and be willing to participate in further training when appropriate to support the pupil’s needs.

This is a temporary contract for 25 hours a week during term time as is required to start as soon as possible.

Information about the school

Teynham is a semi rural location with good transport links (both bus and train). Currently we have 200 pupils in seven classes. The school has spacious school grounds, including playgrounds, sports field, wellbeing area and environmental areas, including a Forest School. We also have an ICT suite and purpose built meeting room. We have strong links with the Pre-school (situated on site) and local church. We work as a team supporting each other and ensuring that we do the best for our children. The school is undergoing an exciting transformation and a new build, with expansion to two form entry, is planned for September 2025.
