Job Title: Head of / Teacher of Psychology Reports to: Senior Leadership Group

This position is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding and inspirational Psychology teacher to join our exceptional team. The post will involve teaching Psychology at Key Stage 5.


This post would ideally suit a colleague who is looking for a challenge and wishes to work with highly motivated, extremely engaged, enthusiastic and able learners. Psychology is a very popular A Level option and there are currently three classes in Year 12 and two in Year 13. We fully expect this to continue. The department follows the AQA specification and is incredibly well resourced. Students very much engage with topics around attachment, memory and conformity. The course design fully prepares students for their further study of Psychology at university. The subject has the highest rate of students going on to study the subject at degree level in the school.


Psychology has its own classrooms located in the Humanities and English block. This is one of the school’s most recent builds and our learning environments are treated with respect by students and staff. The school has outstanding facilities including our brand-new Sports Hall which opened in May 2017.

Weald of Kent is a selective Girls’ Grammar School for 11-18 year olds with a roll of approximately 2000 students including our co-educational Sixth Form.
