Information about the school

Frewen College is an independent co-educational day and boarding school owned by an educational trust. We specialise
in supporting young people aged from 7 to 19 whose education has been adversely affected by specific learning difficulties, namely dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, or speech and language difficulties.

The school is based at Northiam on the Kent/ Sussex borders in a Grade 1 listed Jacobean country house, in listed gardens and with extensive grounds. Originally founded in 1910 we believe we are the oldest such school in the world. Although very small (currently 120 pupils) we have excellent facilities and pupil numbers are increasing. Two thirds of pupils are Local Authority funded; others are MOD funded or private, including a number from overseas. Our Sixth Form was established in 2014, in partnership with Bexhill Sixth Form College.

Most of our classroom staff come to us from the mainstream maintained sector; few have pre-existing specialist qualifications but we provide access to specialist training and qualifications.

Please see our website www.frewencollege.co.uk for further details.
