WYE SCHOOL

Teacher of Physical Education for September 2019

With pastoral and curriculum middle leadership possibilities

Full Time

We are now looking to add a teacher of PE. The role will involve teaching boys and girls in Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level PE as part of a well-established department with detailed schemes of learning, extensive local links and a vibrant programme of fixtures. We also host regular speakers and workshops by sports people, established through our excellent United Learning connections. We enjoy excellent, hands-on subject support from United Learning and also benefit from pooled resources, regular updates and a wide network of PE practitioners. We welcome applications from candidates with varying degrees of experience. A Head of Year role or a PE curriculum role is a possibility for the right candidate.

Wye School is a small, establishing school which has an enthusiastic, committed and highly supportive team of staff.  This appointment will also afford you that rare opportunity to teach across the ability range in Kent as we attract a full comprehensive intake.

Application Details

Applications will be considered on receipt. Suitable candidates will be interviewed on receipt of application and Wye School reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.

Information about the school

Wye School has a vision of excellence, a vision shared by all staff and students. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2018, the school is dedicated to ensuring each student gains the knowledge, confidence and skills to make a success of their future lives. The school caters for Years 7 -13 with a roll of 600, housed in a new building situated in the beautiful Kent Downs countryside, offering an outstanding environment for staff and students. The first GCSE results in 2018 were above average for Progress 8 and above national average Attainment 8, and followed by an equally strong second set of results in 2019. Students are well behaved and hard working and our staff form a friendly and committed team. As the smallest local secondary school, great pride is taken in strong relationships internally and with parents and the community.

Located within close proximity of Wye village centre, the school is at the very heart of the local community and has the potential to grow into a truly exceptional school. Wye is perfectly located to enjoy the Kent countryside, whilst still being within an hour of London thanks to HS1.
