About the Job 

TTO  - 37 hours per week

07:00hrs – 15:00hrs, Monday to Friday (plus events and functions)

Key Responsbilities

  1. To be responsible for the method, preparation and presentation of all food and ensuring this meets the current recognised catering standards.  To ensure this standard is demonstrated throughout the team.
  2. To be responsible for the monitoring of a fully costed menu plan and ordering from our agreed suppliers within the pre-agreed school budget.  You will be required to follow the schools finance regulations and to advise the Site Manager of any unsolved difficulties with Suppliers
  3. To ensure the prompt service of all meals, breaks and functions as required by the Principal
  4. To plan, implement and review a cycle of menus, which are to be reviewed regularly to eliminate any unpopular or costly items
  5. To plan and organise special functions which may be outside of normal working hours
  6. To develop and monitor a business/operational plan for the Catering Department. This is to include the turnover, profitability, quality of food and the value for money for the staff and students
  7. To oversee the cashless catering system and vending machines within the school
  8. To hold regular team meetings/briefings with all catering staff and liaise with Senior School Managers when required
  9. Assist in recruiting and inducting all new members of the catering staff when required
  10. To monitor staff performance, to report staff absences in line with the schools policy and to provide training and development to the team where necessary
  11. To conduct and assist with discipline procedures in accordance with the school policy
