Are you looking to start your NQT year in a nurturing environment with  lovely pupils in small classes?  Or perhaps you are an experienced teacher looking for a change to a village location? We are expanding to one form entry due to rising numbers and need to add to our team.  We can be flexible with KS1 or KS2 expertise as we have a range of experienced staff already in school.

Our recent Ofsted in March 2019 stated:

‘Staff are enthusiastic and reflect the energy of the senior team’s determination to improve. All staff have a clear understanding of the goals the school aims to achieve and they feel supported working in the school.’

‘Pupils are proud of their school, describing it as ‘wonderful, kind and fabulous’

You will know what excellent teaching is and be committed to continuous professional development and improvement in order to achieve this.

We welcome visits to the school.

Information about the federation

Newington CEP School and Lower Halstow School are single form entry village Primary Schools for children aged 2 - 11 and 4-11. Both have close links with their village church and community and spacious school grounds. Our schools offer a safe secure learning environment and are well equipped with a variety of resources and healthy budget for projects.

Newington was extended in 2000 with 4 additional classrooms and library and the original building has been fully renovated with the addition of an outdoor classroom and MUGA. It has an on-site nursery building catering for pupils from 2 years old. Lower Halstow School was last extended in 2014 and offers many modern facilities such as a sports hall, running track, outdoor classroom, ICT suite & separate dining hall.

We have supportive governors and parents and our pupils are happy, polite, enthusiastic and are proud of their schools. We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and effective. Both schools have positive Ofsted reports (good or better in all areas) in Nov 2024 and Jan 2025. Please read our reports to get a feel for our ethos or look at our Instagram feeds @lowerhalstowsch or @newingtonCEP

We are committed to ongoing professional development and our staff regularly access local and regional training. The schools work closely together to reduce workload and support well-being and both schools have a commitment to allowing flexible working wherever possible.
