Are you looking to start your NQT year in a nurturing environment with lovely pupils in small classes? Or perhaps you are an experienced teacher looking for a change to a village location? We are expanding to one form entry due to rising numbers and need to add to our team. We can be flexible with KS1 or KS2 expertise as we have a range of experienced staff already in school.
Our recent Ofsted in March 2019 stated:
‘Staff are enthusiastic and reflect the energy of the senior team’s determination to improve. All staff have a clear understanding of the goals the school aims to achieve and they feel supported working in the school.’
‘Pupils are proud of their school, describing it as ‘wonderful, kind and fabulous’
You will know what excellent teaching is and be committed to continuous professional development and improvement in order to achieve this.
We welcome visits to the school.
Lower Halstow School and Newington CEP School are single form entry village Primary Schools for children aged 4-11. Both have close links with their village church and community and spacious school grounds with games pitches. Both Schools offer a safe secure learning environment and are well equipped with a variety of resources.
Lower Halstow School moved into its present building in October 2005 and offers many modern facilities such as a Sports Hall,ICT suite & Dining Hall. Newington was extended in 2000 with 4 new Classrooms and Library and the original building has recently been renovated.
We have supportive Governors and parents and our pupils are happy, polite, enthusiastic and are proud of their school. We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and effective. Both schools have been graded Good in recent inspections in March and May 2019. Please read our reports to get a feel for our ethos or look at our twitter feeds @lowerhalstowsch or @NewingtonCEP
The schools work closely together with Subject Leaders and Teachers planning together and supporting each other as needed. There is no 'rule' and we allow each year group team to establish the most effective way of working. This helps with workload and we have a minimal marking policy which also supports this. Work life balance is important to us and we are open to creative ways of working in order to achieve this.
We are committed to ongoing professional development and our support staff regularly access local training.
