We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, self-motivated and skilled individual to join our busy finance and administration team. Responsibilities will include working directly with the Director of Finance and Resources in the Finance office and duties will include invoicing, processing orders, monitoring and pursuing payments, supporting with month end and financial year end procedures as well as day to day administration duties. The successful candidate will be sharing the role with the existing Finance Officer who has recently reduced their hours. This role will also include supporting the reception office, acting as the first point of contact for all visitors to Ifield School.
The successful candidate should have good interpersonal qualities and telephone manner, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. They should also possess the ability to meet tight deadlines whilst working to a high standard with the awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues. They must be computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, SIMS.net and SIMS FMS along with a proven good level of numeracy and literacy skills, GCSE grades A to C or equivalent. Previous experience in a financial and/or education background is essential. A flexible nature, attention to detail and a professional attitude is paramount.
Basic hours will be 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday and Tuesday (15hrs per week) term-time only, paid on the Kent scheme pay range 5/6 (£18,704-£22,072), pro-rata, depending on experience. There may also be a requirement to be flexible with working days, along with a requirement to work school holidays on an occasional basis. This will be paid at the appropriate overtime rate.
We would consider combining this as a full time role with the Clerk to the Governors/Administrator vacancy (16hrs per week), for a candidate with flexibility and the necessary skill set.
