Information about the school

Fleetdown Primary School is a very successful and popular school at the heart of our local community, catering for children from EYFS to Year 6. We aim for every child to develop a passion for learning and make excellent progress in a caring, plus stimulating learning environment in which all children can meet their full potential. We share a commitment to achieving the highest possible academic standards alongside the development of confident and caring pupils. We are very proud to be home to the Pirate Ship, which is our Hearing Impaired specialist resource base, which is designed for pupils with a severe to profound hearing loss. This unique setting provides children with 1:1 or 1:2 support from teaching assistants, who are all trained in British Sign Language, as well as individualised teaching from a qualified Teacher of the Deaf. Our Core Values underpin everything that we do and believe in at Fleetdown Primary School: Compassion, Respect, Resilience, Integrity and Thankfulness. We expect every child to show impeccable behaviour at all times, be kind to their peers, and develop responsibility too. We strongly believe in our Community Code: Be Brave, Be Wise, Be Successful. We have Year 6 Prefects who act as excellent role models for our younger pupils who uphold our Core Values and Community Code. At Fleetdown, our motto is that Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) and we are fortunate to have staff who are talented, friendly and supportive. Alongside our inspirational and engaging curriculum, our teachers and teaching assistants provide a wide range of extra-curricular clubs to develop pupils' social skills, interests and talents. We have a range of wonderful events throughout the year, such as the Shine Concert and District Sports, which showcase our pupils' wide range of abilities. We are also fortunate enough to be supported by a strong governing body and an active HSA. For more information about our school, please visit the website at www.fleetdown.kent.sch.uk
