We are seeking to appoint an exceptional class teacher for our Reception Year. Ideally you would be available to start after Easter but we would also consider a September start date for the right candidate. He or she will be full of enthusiasm and have boundless energy. They will be excited about the prospect of working with wonderful children, talented and committed colleagues, and supportive parents. The successful candidate will recognise that delivering the highest possible educational outcomes for pupils is not simply a matter of exemplary teaching but fostering a sense of fun and wonder in the classroom. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • is an excellent classroom practitioner with EYFS/KS1 experience
  • has high expectations of the children and themselves
  • is able to work collaboratively with others
  • is able to take the initiative
  • will relish a challenge
  • recognises that teaching remains the best job in the world
  • would take on subject leadership (with support and training as needed)

Mersham Primary School is situated in an attractive village south east of Ashford, just off the A20. This highly successful, popular and friendly rural school currently has 181 pupils on roll, drawn from Mersham itself, the surrounding villages, Ashford and beyond. The playing field and grounds have been substantially developed and resourced to provide exciting opportunities for staff to enhance the entire curriculum through regular Outdoor Classroom activities.
