Advert

We are looking for an outstanding teacher who holds the National Award for SEN Co-ordination and who has recent, relevant experience of inclusion (including the never ending paperwork!).  The post is a non-class based leadership role and you will join our School Leadership Team.  You will need to have a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice as well as data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to inform provision planning.

The role is part-time and is 1 to 1.5 days (depending on candidate) per week.

You must be a talented, creative teacher who can inspire and offer practical inclusion advice to others. As a member of SLT you will play an active role in supporting, mentoring and developing staff as well as quality assuring teaching & learning.

You will have the overall responsibility for leading and managing inclusion across the school. Our children deserve a SENDCo who will champion their needs and accept nothing but the best for them by working effectively with pupils, staff and external agencies and holding people to account when required to do so.

We are an outward facing school, so you will need to be keen to identify and develop best practice whether it is within the school or elsewhere.  You will be part of the Sevenoaks Partnership of Primary Schools and able to attend the regular SEND forum with SENDCos from 25 other schools, to share inspiring practice and seek advice from colleagues.  The Partnership also offers opportunities to develop leadership through internal training and the NPQSL course.

Our school offers a broad, rich, deep curriculum, delivered through highly effective teaching and learning to happy, enthusiastic children.  We have high expectations for achievement, behaviour, attitudes and attendance and pupils have high standards of behaviour and engagement with their learning.

You will join a small but incredibly supportive and welcoming staff team, and have the opportunity to work alongside fantastic children and supportive parents.

We invite you to visit our school and discover first hand why you need to consider working here.

Please contact the school office on 01959 522228 and speak to Sharon our School Administration Officer or email her on office@shoreham.kent.sch.uk if you wish to view the school.
