Dover College is looking for a teacher of ICT (Computer Science and Digital IT) to provide a stimulating educational experience for all pupils. Foster an environment where pupils enjoy and respect Computing, develop a love for design and coding. Know how to prepare students for a variety of career pathways in IT: AI, VR and iMEDIA. It should be commonplace for pupils to use Raspberry Pi, code, write gaming programmes and to share their skills through the school’s digital platform within the College and publicly.

This vacancy could suit either an NQT or a more experienced teacher looking to broaden their experience.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Teach ICT, Computer Science and Digital IT in the Junior School, KS3, GCSE and BTEC National.
  • Embrace our extra-curricular programme.
  • Help run weekend workshops, combined with College performing arts.
  • Enter pupils into competitions outside of college for example robotics and coding.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to teach BTEC Level 2 Digital Information Technology, Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Information Technology/Computer Science.
  • Think differently about how stuents should be equipped for an uncertain future.
  • Willingness to teach new courses to the curriculum that provides the students with Computing and IT skills necessary for the modern age.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Raspberry Pi certified.
  • Willing to rise to the challenge of an exciting era in IT, with the introduction of Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Digital IT and GCSE and BTEC Level 3 Creative Digital Media.
