We are looking to appoint energetic and enthusiastic, temporary SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join our experienced and friendly SEN Team. The position is to support learning and well-being needs for pupils with detailed Provision Plans and training will be ongoing. We are offering the opportunity to work in one of the largest Infant Schools in Kent, where you will be warmly welcomed.

The contract would be for 30 hours a week (term time only), from February until the end August 2019, in the first instance.

 We would be delighted if the successful candidate could:

  • Have relevant qualifications or experience (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to study for it).
  • Have particular experience of supporting children with significant SEN needs, such as ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Early Years and Key Stage 1 Curriculum.
  • Be able to differentiate when supporting learning.
  • Be a good team player who enjoys multi-agency liaison.
  • Be organised in record keeping - maintaining & updating records.
  • Be flexible and prepared to use their initiative.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Be imaginative and creative.
  • Be someone who enjoys working with young children and is fun to work with!

Information about the school

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 300 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.
