We are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant who is passionate about developing young minds, providing play based learning opportunities and creating an immersive learning environment where our pupils flourish.

The ideal person would be able to demonstrate knowledge of the Early Years in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.  Early Years experience or Level 3 CACHE is desirable. The contract is for 30 hours per week, term time only.

We are an enthusiastic, dedicated and amazing team in a large primary academy.  Energy, a sense of humour, great team spirit and a creative mindset are all must haves.

Folkestone St. Mary's Church of England Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and respects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and two satisfactory references.

If you do not hear from the Academy shortly after the closing date, then please assume that you have not been shortlisted for this position.

Information about the school

St Mary’s is a two‑form entry Church of England primary in the heart of coastal Folkestone, known for its warm welcome, high expectations and inclusive ethos. Set within extensive grounds - with Forest School, a pond area and well‑equipped EYFS outdoor learning spaces - our curriculum is rich, ambitious and alive with real experiences.

We invest in high‑quality adult–child interactions in EYFS and strong classroom practice across the school. Pupils benefit from a wide range of enrichment: specialist clubs in the arts and sport, swimming for all KS2, educational visits linked to topics, and a local sports partnership. Pastoral support is proactive and joined‑up, with close work between our Pastoral Lead, SENCo and external agencies.

We’re a Single Academy Trust that values collaboration, professional growth and honest, impact‑focused coaching - so every child, including those with SEND, can thrive.
