The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a School Business Manager to join the leadership team at Meopham Community Academy.  This post is for 30-37 hours a week term time only plus INSET, one additional week and paid holiday entitlement. For the right candidate there may be some flexibility in the number of hours worked each week.

The salary will be Kent Range 8 (min £24791 max £28412 FTE) for an unqualified School Business Manager or Kent Range 9 (min £28413 max £32495 FTE) for candidates who hold The Certificate of School Business Management qualification. This pro ratas to Kent Range 8 (min £20919 max £24402) and Kent Range 9 (min £23975 max £27420) based on a 37 hour week.

The School Business Manager, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, will be expected to provide a major contribution to the overall organisation, management and strategic direction of the school. The School Business Manager will also have responsibility for the effective management of all support functions of the school, including finance, premises, compliance, human resources including supply cover, and health and safety.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • the Certificate of School Business Management qualification, or is willing to work towards achieving this
  • strategic leadership and management experience such as line managing teams of people and projects
  • an excellent understanding of finances, preferably in a school/academy setting
  • relevant experience and proven personal impact within current or previous role
  • the ability to lead by example, remain calm under pressure and to use own initiative
  • excellent inter-personal skills
  • outstanding IT skills

Meopham Community Academy joined The Pathway Academy Trust in September 2018 and the role of the School Business Manager will involve working collaboratively with the Trust Business Manager and other schools within the trust.
