Rosherville Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a suitable qualification and experience and brings with them a passion to inspire pupils to achieve beyond what they thought possible.

The successful applicant will be an integral part of our Year 6 class, providing additional support to focus children in literacy and numeracy through our innovative and creative curriculum.

You will be required to cover PPA regularly for the Year 6 class teacher and sometimes in other classes.

We are a friendly, supportive and caring team and we offer a comprehensive induction package to ensure you feel equipped to do the job well.  The children at Rosherville are a delight to work with, well behaved and enthusiastic, and will welcome the right candidate enthusiastically. We are committed to staff development so there will be opportunities for you to work with others to extend your skills further.

To be successful in this post, you will need:

  • Previous experience of working with children in Upper Key Stage 2
  • A personal high standard of maths and literacy skills with a secure understanding of English grammar
  • An understanding of using assessment for learning to enable pupils to make progress
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn, the maths mastery approach 
  • To be enthusiastic and highly organised about all aspects of teaching and learning
  • Have high expectations of both pupils and yourself
  • To be self-motivated and show creativity when adapting learning to meet the needs of individuals or small groups of children
  • A belief in inclusion, diversity and the right of each child to be successful whatever their needs, abilities and background
  • To be able to inspire, motivate and foster excellent relationships, working in partnership with staff, parents, governors and our wider community
  • Good interpersonal skills, a sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a hard-working, enthusiastic and committed team
  • To be committed to your own professional development and keen to make a significant contribution to the life of our school.Salary pro-rata Kent Scheme 5/6 (£18,059-£19,863 pro rata) 32.5 hours per week Term Time only dependant on experience and qualification.

Rosherville Church of England Academy is a welcoming school situated in Northfleet, on the edge of Gravesend town centre.
