We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic 1:1 teaching assistant to join our staff at St John's. You will be an effective team player, calm and patient, with a sense of humour and be sympathetic to the ethos of the school.

The successful candidate will be supporting a child in Key Stage 2. The ability to create firm boundaries and to have high expectations is essential to support a student with Special Educational Needs. This post will end when the pupil leaves our school setting.

Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in Learning Support, NVQ level 2 or equivalent or be willing to undertake this training or be able to demonstrate the relevant experience.

 

Information about the school

St John’s is a four-form entry primary academy located in Gravesend, serving the Parish of St John the Evangelist and the local area. It is part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership (KCSP), a multi-academy trust established by the Archdiocese of Southwark for Catholic education across Kent which currently comprises of 26 academies (21 primary and 5 secondary).

St John’s is an inclusive academy. Its dedicated staff, helpers and governance committee members work hard to ensure that every student is supported and challenged to be their very best. Each individual is encouraged to grow spiritually and intellectually, so that unique and positive contributions can be made to society and the world. Our most recent denominational inspection in November 2022 and Ofsted inspection in November 2023 judged the academy to be ‘Good’.
