We wish to appoint an outstanding, dedicated and highly motivated teaching assistant for speech and language interventions.

Ideally you must have experience in delivering speech and language programmes. We have a speech and language specialist who will support with testing every other week and is able to do some training. The role will involve working with children from Year R up to Year 5, mostly 1:1 in short interventions. There will be opportunity to feedback to class teachers to ensure impact support.

We need someone who:

  • Has worked with a variety of different year groups
  • Experience of using speech and language interventions
  • Necessary qualifications ideally NVQL2/3 in child care
  • An ability to communicate and work as part of a team
  • First aid qualification

 

This is a temporary contract starting in January 2019 for 25 hours a week during term time.

Information about the school

Teynham is a semi rural location with good transport links (both bus and train). Currently we have 200 pupils in seven classes. The school has spacious school grounds, including playgrounds, sports field, wellbeing area and environmental areas, including a Forest School. We also have an ICT suite and purpose built meeting room. We have strong links with the Pre-school (situated on site) and local church. We work as a team supporting each other and ensuring that we do the best for our children. The school is undergoing an exciting transformation and work on the new build has already started, with expansion to two form entry, planned for September 2025.
