We are looking for a HR and clerical administrator who will systematically and efficiently manage personnel and pupil records at our school. This is a team role working alongside our Office manager and General secretary, with designated and specific responsibilities revolving around staff contracts and admissions, attendance and punctuality records. 

Ideally we are looking for someone with previous HR and personnel experience. Excellent organisational skills are required to cope with the demands of having to deal with a wide variety of tasks and the ability to be adaptable to any situation.  Good literacy, numeracy, computer skills (word and excel) are essential.  A knowledge of SIMS or a candidate who has worked in a school or child orientated workplace in the past would be desirable.

The day to day role of our HR and Clerical Administrator will entail such duties as:

  • Managing personnel records - administration for starters and leavers, contract variations, maternity arrangements, pension arrangements
  • Managing staff sickness and absence and organising agency cover where necessary 
  • Maintaining our school's single central record 
  • Completing the biannual school and workforce census 
  • Managing the admissions process
  • Support the leadership team in preparing for open mornings and special events
  • Supporting the secondary transfer process
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting on pupil attendance and punctuality - producing relevant SIMS reports 

This role requires predominantly term time only work, however the successful candidate will also be required to work an additional week at the start and end of the school summer vacation.

Hours: 8.00am - 4.30pm, 37 hours per week - 41 working weeks / 46 paid weeks per year.

Salary: Kent Range KR4 pro rater  

Ideally the desired start date is 1st December but we will be flexible due to short notice.
