Greatstone Primary School are looking to welcome a part-time Teaching Assistant (27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year) to our team starting in January 2019. Our school motto is ‘Together we Learn’ and this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and highly supportive group of dedicated people, to begin or further develop your career. The successful applicant will be based in a year 5 class, supporting the class teacher and so experience of working in years 5 and/or 6 would be an advantage.

Applications are invited from individuals who have:

• relevant and recent experience of working as a Teaching Assistant
• good attendance and punctuality
• at least NVQ3
• GCSE Maths & English at grade C+ or equivalent
• good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• the ability and confidence to work with a range of children and confidently manage behaviour
• an ability to communicate, take on board advice, use your initiative and meet deadlines
• a good sense of humour!

Information about the school

Greatstone Primary School is a Foundation School with ten classes and approximately 250 children. We also have a 40 place Nursery on site. We are a well maintained rural school set in large open grounds close to the sandy beaches of the south east coast and the unique landscape and nature reserve at Dungeness. The school has good access by road and is about 30 minutes drive from both Ashford and Folkestone.

The School and Nursery have a very good reputation within the local area and is renowned for the excellent behaviour of its children and the high expectations of its staff. We have a reputation for delivering a high standard of education in a friendly, happy and supportive environment. The school was rated Good in its last OFSTED inspection carried out during May 2022.
