We are seeking to appoint an Office Administrative Asssistant who is committed to working in partnership with the Office Administrator, School Business Manager and the Headteacher at an outstanding Infant School in the outskirts of Ashford.

The Office Administrative Assistant is a key person within this team, being the 'face of the school' The successful applicant will ideally have school and/or administrative experience and will need to be a happy, positive and hard working person who wants to make a difference to all children and stakeholders. 

 To become part of our outstanding team as an Office Administrative Assistant, you will need to:

    • Be able to assist with providing administrative and organisational services to the school.
    • Be a welcoming/ friendly face at Reception and deal with any queries from parents, young children, staff and visitors in a calm and professional way in person, via telephone or via email
    • Undertake word-processing and IT based tasks including operation of relevant equipment
    • Assist with the organisinational arrangements for school visits and events
    • Be an effective team player and work as part of a small office team and as part of a wider school team
    • Willingness to learn and to further develop skills and keep abreast of new requirements or administration systems
    • Demonstrate the vision and values of the school ineveryday work and practice

Hours: 15 hours per week   KR 3- £15,628 (pro-rata)

Term time only.

Information about the school

Downs View is a three-form entry purpose built Infant School on the outskirts of Ashford. We have 270 children in our school. We enjoy an excellent partnership with other local schools and settings, including Kennington C of E Academy. We have five Basic Skills Quality Mark awards, a Healthy School Award, Platinum Travel Plan, Active Sports Mark, Governor Mark and Arts Mark Gold. In October 2023 we were graded Good by Ofsted with Outstanding areas. We have a Forest School area and extensive grounds which we utilise to maximise learning. We are part of a very proactive CATs collaboration where we benefit from working in partnership with fifteen other local schools in Ashford. We have two Senior Leaders in Education and have benefited from having a Maths mastery specialist; they enrich the opportunities we offer for all children. They also utilise their expertise to support other schools and colleagues. We value play and child-initiated learning across our school which has resulted in high quality learning through play both inside and outside.
