Advert

Charlton is a one form entry Church of England primary school in central Dover.  Our Christian ethos is central to everything we do.   Our mission statement  "living, learning and growing in God's love"  is well developed through our core values of listening, encouraging, forgiveness, thoughtfulness, patience and sharing.

We were rated "Outstanding" in our SIAMS inspection in  July 2017 and rated "Good" by Ofsted in February 2018.   We are seeking a head teacher to work with the staff team and governors to build on our achievement and move us to the next level.

We are part of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust, as well as a collaboration arrangement with 4 other  local primary schools. Our head teacher will work with and be supported by both the Trust and the collaboration.

The staff team and governors are committed to achieving the best outcomes for all our children, in an area of deprivation with increasing additional needs.  The successful candidate will share our determination that all children should be supported to reach their full potential.

We asked our children what they think a new head teacher should be like they said "kind", "be able to get stuff done", "have a good sense of humour" and "not be too shouty".   The children are keen to learn and we would encourage the successful candidate to spend some time teaching where appropriate.

To arrange a visit to the school please contact the Chair of Governors, Mrs Hazel Groves, by email, hazel.groves@charlton.kent.sch.uk or via the school office on 01304 201275.

Our school and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children.  This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
