We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated office manager to work alongside our dedicated team of staff.

The post is for 37 hours per week on a 39 weeks per year contract (term time only including attendance on staff development days).

Purpose

You will be required to be an excellent team player, working within our dedicated friendly team, to support the Head Teacher, governing body, staff and pupils in the organisation and running of the school through an administration role. The role includes inputting data so experience and knowledge of SIMs will be beneficial. We have a successful extended schools provision which the office manager will organise and manage. You will also need to take charge and oversee the organisation of our in-house school catering and all aspects of our lunchtime provision. Safeguarding procedures will need to be carried out in line with national guidelines and you will be required to carry out all personnel administration to ensure compliance with employment legislation. Managing staff development and training including carrying out appraisals for finance, administration, catering staff and midday meals supervisors is a part of the office manager role. Health and safety reporting and record keeping are essential and the office manager will need to be first aid at work trained (training can be provided). A key part of the office manager’s role is liaising with parents, staff, outside agencies and other visitors to the school ensuring that a positive ethos of Higham school is promoted.

This is a demanding role and you will need to be an excellent team player, able to manage your workload and that of the admin team whilst ensuring a high quality service for pupils, staff, parents and visitors. The role provides an excellent opportunity to work with an established, experienced and dedicated team.

The hours of work will be Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Friday 8am to 4pm term time only (including Staff Development Days).

The successful candidate would need to be able to commence on Monday 29th October.
