TIMU Academy Trust (Iwade school and Bobbing school) are looking to appoint a hard working, skilled, dependable and self-motivated part-time Assistant Caretaker with a good range of practical skills.

This post is part-time 25 hours a week, for 52 weeks a year and pay will be on Kent Range 3 FTE £15,253 - £16,967 (pro rata).  

You will work alongside our current Site Manager, to ensure the effective management, organisation and supervision of all matters relating to the schools premises. Duties will include general maintenance of the school premises; out of hours opening for lettings; ensuring the security of the school, regular health and safety checks , some janitorial / cleaning duties and to deputise for the Site Manager in their absence. This position is physical in nature and includes working outside and may involve lifting / moving furniture and equipment.

You will take pride in ensuring the school is clean, tidy and a safe environment for our children and staff. You will need to be competent at DIY tasks and be able to work both on your own initiative and under the guidance of others.

Ideally the successful candidate will have a good trades background, and be able to work with some flexibility, to meet the needs of the staff and maintenance schedule. Any general plumbing, electrical and / or carpentry skills would also be an advantage.

We have a minibus that is in constant use and although not essential, it would be very useful to have category D1 on your licence as well as some experience of driving minibuses.
