Are you looking to start your teaching career or take your next step in a school Dedicated to Excellence? We are looking for a committed and inspirational teacher to join our teaching team from September.This position is offered initially for one year but may be extended. We have in place an experienced mentor if you are new to teaching or returning from a break so you can be assured of the suppoort you will want to become an excellent teacher.

We need a teacher who will inspire and motivate our children and engage with parents to enable children to achieve the best possible outcomes.

We had our Ofsted in January 2018 which judged us to be good but we want to be excellent. If you feel you are the right candidate to help us on our journey we want to hear from you.

Information about the school

We are a small village primary school with 5 wonderful classes but with plans to grow. We have a fantastic team of teachers and Learning Support Assistants who are highly skilled in providing a challenging and relevant curriculum. We also have a friendly and welcoming supporting team from the office through to the caretaker who strive to provide us with an environment we can all be proud of.

Set in beautiful grounds with a mixture of Victorian and modern buildings we are fortunate to have lots of outdoor space in which we can learn. We have a large field and wooded area where we can explore the natural world first hand. We are also developing our garden area with a range of plants and structures to attract even more local wildlife.

From each child’s earliest day at Bethersden they become part of a truly special family. We have an active School Council who meet regularly with myself to share their ideas about developing the school further. We have a team of highly dedicated governors who support the school in setting challenging goals for the future of the school. We encourage parents to work with us in partnership and we have a thriving Friends’ Association  (FOBS) whose members work extremely hard to raise money and to provide a whole range of social events for parents and children.

 

Information about the school

We are a small, friendly, village primary school with 120 children taught in 6 classes. Our rural location just off the A28 between Ashford and Tenterden means we serve families from the village and the wider area. We have received a Good grading in our most recent Ofsted inspection (June 2023).

Our large site has extensive grounds, which includes a gardening area and large playing field.

We have a friendly, dedicated staff who work seamlessly together as a team, ensuring our children excel through a focus on quality first teaching and pastoral support.
