We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled Teaching Assistant to teach PE across all year groups: from EYFS to Year 6. The successful individual will be passionate about sport; someone who wants to engage and motivate children to partake in all aspects of PE. This is more important than any formal sporting qualifications. Ideally, this appointment will lead to our children becoming more active and healthy and inspire them to participate in intra and inter school competitions.

You will be teaching PE every afternoon and one morning PPA and leadership time for teachers may also need to be covered. We have an effective PE scheme of work, with simple plans that you can adapt to suit your own teaching style. We will also be flexible as regards to which disciplines you teach. So

  • Are you passionate about providing all children with the opportunity to succeed in PE and competitive sport?
  • Are you an effective communicator and a good team player?
  • More importantly, do you have a good sense of humour and the ability to make learning fun?

Finally, we are flexible as regards hours. As mentioned above, we will need cover either mornings or afternoons. However, if you would prefer a full time role, when not teaching PE, you would work as a Teaching Assistant in class.

Staplehurst School has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Our school is a two form entry community school, with approximately 400 pupils.
