Grade: £9.24 per hour

Responsible to: Clerk to Trustees

Working Time Casual Relief Contract – flexibility will be required to meet the demands and meeting schedule of the Local Governing Body

We have an exciting clerking opportunity at Bennett Memorial Diocesan School in Tunbridge Wells, a popular and over-subscribed academy with an enviable record of outstanding academic achievement over many years. Bennett is a Church of England co-educational school with independent academy status, which was judged Outstanding in every area by Ofsted in 2012      

Reporting to the Clerk to the Trustees, and working closely with the school's Headteacher and Chair of Local Governing Body, the successful candidates will play a vital role in meeting the administrative and procedural requirements of Boards and enabling efficient and effective discussion and decision making.

You will be a dedicated person of integrity, extremely well organised, flexible and be able to maintain confidentiality. Strong administration and organisation skills are essential, as is a keen eye for detail, ability to work to deadlines, and excellent written and oral communication skills. A commitment to the aims and ethos of Tenax is important. Previous experience of governance may be advantageous although training will be provided on the specific duties and functions of a clerk for the Tenax Schools Trust.

The Tenax School Trust is a successful and growing multi-academy trust. Each school within the Trust has a Local Governing Body (LGB) with delegated responsibilities, to which a clerk must be appointed to ensure its efficient functioning.
