Cover Specialist

To start as soon as possible

Full time, permanent (36.5 hours per week, 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday)

Term time only (38 weeks) plus 2 INSET days

Salary: Academy Range 6 £19,317 pro rata (which equates to £15,861 per annum)

Folkestone All Age Academy offers a state of the art learning environment for over 1500, 11-18 year olds. We value academic rigour, coupled with a unique form of pastoral care and guidance.

We are seeking to recruit a full time Cover Specialist to join our teaching team.

The suitable candidate should be able to demonstrate solid experience of working with children, aged 11-16, and be able to confidently provide high quality supervision to students when a teacher is absent from a class. The work of the cover specialist will enable students to continue their learning and to provide a safe and orderly classroom environment.  In particular, the Cover Specialist will be responsible for supervising whole classes of students in undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy curriculum. This will include ensuring the completion of class based tasks set by the absent teacher, and managing the behaviour of students whilst they are undertaking the work to ensure a constructive learning environment.
