We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate sports coach to teach Physical Education across Key Stages 1 and 2 and assist with school sports and school sporting clubs. The successful candidate will have experience and an interest in a wide range of sports, as well as significant coaching experience.

We have an excellent reputation for the inclusion of all children.

Desirable qualifications, experience and qualities required by the successful applicant:

  • Level 3 certificate for Teaching Assistants qualification or similar
  • PE coaching qualification or similar
  • Experience working in schools – ideally in all primary phases
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, GCSE grade C+ or equivalent
  • Ability to work successfully with pupils with a range of needs
  • Adaptable and confident to support individuals, small groups of pupils
  • Capable and confident in delivering school interventions
  • Enjoys working with children and is able to establish excellent relationships
  • Excellent team member
  • Hardworking and is able to work on their own initiative and manage time
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to the school, has positive views and is willing to contribute to school events

This new post in the school is for 28 hours and is a permanent position, working across the week Mondays to Fridays and you will be required to cover after school clubs and attend the sports tournaments and competions with the pupils.

St Matthew's High Brooms Church of England Primary School, is a two-form entry Church of England primary school in a semi-urban area of Tunbridge Wells and Southborough. We have an extensive site and large outdoor areas.

At present there are approximately 360 children on roll. The school serves the community of High Brooms, St John's and Southborough.

We are a happy and lively school that places the children at the heart of everything that we do. Children benefit from many opportunities and take part in the excellent range of academic, physical and creative activities that we offer, both during and after school.
