Are you an outstanding experienced Key Stage 1 teacher looking for a new leadership challenge?

We are looking for a Key Stage 1 Phase Leader to join our fantastic team from April this year.

We are a small Church of England Primary School on our journey to ‘Good’ and beyond. If you are an experienced Key Stage 1 practitioner, with a thirst for leadership and a desire to succeed, this could be the job for you!

This position starts in April, with two terms teaching in EYFS. From September 2016, this will become a Year 2 teaching post, along with the continuing responsibility of Key Stage 1 leadership.

This period will provide an exciting opportunity for additional leadership responsibilities, supporting the acting Head Teacher during the transition between the departure of the Head Teacher and the arrival of a new substantive Head Teacher in September.

The right candidate for this job will be a dependable, experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher with an excellent grasp of phonics and of the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will be able to identify ways to improve outcomes through your leadership, be proactive, inspirational, and communicate effectively with staff and parents, as well as being an outstanding classroom practitioner. Experience of teaching year 2 and some knowledge of the new Key Stage 1 statutory arrangements would be desirable. You must have solid leadership skills and a healthy ambition for the success of the school.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Be an experienced key stage 1 teacher with a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for this important stage in a child's education;
  • Have some experience of teaching EYFS or possess knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage;
  • Have a passion for driving up standards and improving outcomes for all pupils;
  • Be an effective and confident communicator, being able to support other staff within your phase, all the while maintaining a friendly and inclusive atmosphere
  • Be organised, enthusiastic, proactive and positive. A sense of humour is vital!
  • This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Key Stage 1 teacher looking for a step-up into middle leadership, or an existing EYFS or KS1 leader looking to move to a friendly school and a new challenge. In this leadership role, you will be working alongside a strong senior leadership team who will be keen to support you every step of the way. You will also have a full time teaching responsibility, which means that you will be able to make use of all opportunities to utilise the school's resources and express your passion for education within the year 2 classroom.

If this sounds like it may be the job for you, please come and look around our wonderful school to find out more.
