We have a vacancy for a Caretaker 2 days a week due to the current Caretaker requesting a reduction in hours. We are looking for someone who could work on a Thursday and Friday (preferably but this could be flexible) between the hours of 7:15am - 4pm

The role would primarily be to ensure the security of the establishment and provide general maintenance service.

Outline of Main Duties:

  • Undertake general repairs and maintenance around the establishment, inside and out, including decorating, repairs and woodwork to ensure the site is a safe environment for students, staff and visitors ensuring footpaths into and around premises are accessible in all weathers eg snow clearing , leaf clearing
  • Maintain the security of the premises by opening and closing premises, repairing doors, latches and fences to maintain a safe environment
  • Assist the cleaners when required, in general cleaning of the premises i.e. buffing wooden floors, cleaning toilets, to ensure a tidy appearance is maintained
  • Assist in the monitoring of the boiler, ordering supplies to ensure it is kept running on a day to day basis to meet the establishments needs.
  • Provide a portering service for deliveries to ensure supplies are correctly handled and appropriately delivered.
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs in the dining hall daily for breakfast club and lunch time sittings
  • Assist in taking meter reading from appropriate sites around the establishment to ensure invoices received are correct and budget monitoring is maintained.
  • Working alongside School Caretaker, including dealing with computerised time sheets, attending meetings to ensure the schools needs are met

There would also be a requirement for you to be trained by and work for Road Crossing Patrol ensuring safe arrival and exit of children from the school premises on the days you work.
