Laleham Gap School is a well-established school in a thriving community which is now seeking a School Business Manager to join their highly motivated Senior Leadership Team. The role will involve the supervision and strategic management of Admin, HR, Catering, Estates and Finance. As well as directly line managing the School Bursar, the School Secretary, the Nursing Team, Premises & Facilities Manager, and the Catering Manager. The position requires a strong strategic acumen as well as previous experience within a similar environment. If you are passionate about working within a school, then this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant contribution to the strategic development and become an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team and its future success. To be considered you will ideally have significant experience of managing teams, multi-tasking abilities as well as a high level of knowledge and experience of SIMS and FMS IT systems. The role holder will be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of the support function for the school.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for business and financial management of school resources (including payroll).
  • Manage the schools support function through planning, developing, designing and monitoring support systems and procedures which may include finance, HR and facilities management.
  • Contribute to the development of training programmes/learning opportunities and mentoring for support staff within the administration team and finance team
  • Assist the Head teacher and governing body with income generation activities and in promoting and marketing the school.
  • Arrange provision, analysis and evaluation of data and detailed reports and information to the Headteacher, the Governing Body and outside agencies on financial management and budget resourcing.
  • Manage the procurement process, including securing appropriate service contracts, licences and insurance.
  • Manage the Human Resources for the school ensuring adherence to recruitment processes and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of policies for school support function.
  • Strategic responsibility for health and safety issues within the school and how they impact on pupils, staff and visitors to the school.

Laleham Gap is a Communication and Interaction Special School. We have pupils aged from 4 to 18 years of age. Most of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism. All pupils have an EHCP. Most pupils will achieve some GCSEs or equivalent at age 16.
