We have an exciting new position for a Finance Assistant to join a busy finance department within our School. This is a new position within the team and the successful individual will be working alongside the School Bursar and Business Manager in helping to support the School’s Strategic Delivery Plan in a wide variety of key financial duties. This is a part time role (20 hrs) term time only.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing best value on goods being placed on order
  • Raising purchase orders and reconciliation of invoices
  • Checking incoming stock deliveries against goods receipts
  • Undertaking petty cash reconciliation and banking of cash
  • Entering income and expenditure on the Financial Management System (FMS)
  • Processing invoices
  • Dealing with enquiries from suppliers (including statements)

Person Specification

  • Financial experience or qualifications at NVQ level or above essential
  • Experience of purchase ledger management/control
  • Excellent data entry and attention to detail
  • Experience of working with new systems
  • Good knowledge and understanding of ICT and Microsoft package especially excel
  • Experience working in a finance environment

Laleham Gap is a Communication and Interaction Special School. We have pupils aged from 4 to 18 years of age. Most of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism. All pupils have an EHCP. Most pupils will achieve some GCSEs or equivalent at age 16.
